We will remain open with the same services, with a few changes:
o We are happy to accommodate non-residents, but you must make an appointment to use any of our services. South River residents are welcome for browsing at any time.
o Patrons with study appointments must sign an agreement to follow the state mandated safety requirements all times while in the library. Non-compliance will result is suspension of this service.
o We will close at 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning December 1, 2020.
o Due to the pandemic, our services are subject to change at any time. Our primary goal is to keep our staff and community safe.
In honor of Veterans Day, South River Public Library will be closed on Friday, November 11th.
The South River Historical and Preservation Society will be showing a WWII Veterans home coming film at South River Public Library on Saturday, November 12th at 10:30 am & 12:30pm, and Sunday, November 13th at 12:30pm.
Due to the amount snow removal needed in town after Blizzard Jonas, the Department of Public Works will be able to clear the library parking lot on Wednesday morning. (1/27/16). As a reminder, the library is now open on Wednesdays from 12-5.
For everyone's safety, please stay home until the lot can be cleared properly. There will be no fines for any items due on days that the library is closed.
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, South River Public Library will be closed on Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th. We wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

The South River Public Library was recently selected as the recipient of the Young Adult Library Services Association for the 2015 Teens’ Top Ten Book Giveaway. The Teens' Top Ten is an annual "teen choice" list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year. Teens everywhere can nominate their favorite titles to become the official nominees of the upcoming Teens' Top Ten. Nominations are posted on the Thursday of National Library Week, and teens across the country vote on their favorite titles each year between August 15 and the close of Teen Read Week™, Oct. 24. The grant provided 60 public and school libraries around the country with a copy of each of the nominated titles. Sounds like it’s time to get reading

The Library Board of Trustees Meeting originally taking place on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sivess Meeting Room.
The Friends of the South River Public Library are hosting a used book sale in the Sivess Room at the South River Library on Friday, February 20 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm,and Saturday, February 21 and Sunday February 22 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The cost of the books are: Adult hardcover $0.50 and adult paperback $0.25. Children and young adult are $0.25. Audio books, CDs and DVDs are $1.00.

Service Desk duties include fielding reference requests from the public, support for school assignments, readers’ advisory services, and support for public access computing.

South River Library was delighted to accept an American flag donated by a local veteran for display in our Sivess Meeting Room. We appreciate the sacrifice of all our veterans and are so pleased to have this opportunity to say thank you for your service.
In regard to placing a Hold, you will receive a courtesy notice when a Hold becomes available for pick up. You are responsible for providing current and complete contact information and for choosing the preferred notification method – phone or email.
Holds not picked up will incur a $1 fee per item. Holds picked up on time are free.
This is to advise you that the area directly in front of the library was recently established as a Fire Lane by Borough Resolution. Parking in this area subjects you to a $100 fine.
Please park within the lines in any vacant spot in the expanded parking lot.
The South River Public Library along with its Board of Trustees and Friends of the Library, would like to thank Mrs. Dawn Bladzinski for her many years of service as Youth Services Librarian. During that time, she introduced toddlers and preschoolers to the fun place a library can be, helped elementary school children complete their projects and find their "just right" book, while inspiring teens to discover great new reasons to head over to South River Library. We, along with our patrons, wish Dawn all the best as she begins an exciting new chapter as a School Library Media Specialist.
