Interlibrary Loan

If we do not have the book, DVD, audiobook, or magazine that you want, it may be possible to locate and borrow it from another library through a library collection-sharing program referred to as InterLibrary Loan or ILL.

Using our online catalog you may search any of the other 25 participating libraries of The Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium or LMxAC. You may choose to have your item sent to South River or any other LMxAC library.

If you are unable to locate your material through our online catalog, you may try searching JerseyCat. This service enables you to obtain materials from libraries outside of our consortium, including academic and out-of-state libraries. JerseyCat should be used only after you have searched within our online catalog.

In regard to placing a Hold, you will receive a courtesy notice when a Hold becomes available for pick up. You are responsible for providing current and complete contact information and for choosing the preferred notification method – phone or email.

Holds not picked up will incur a $1 fee per item. Holds picked up on time are free.

We are always happy to assist our patrons with placing a Hold. This service is available to South River Library cardholders only.
